In an effort to facilitate communication throughout the Pack we have created an email system for the Pack based on our cubs56.org domain name.  All Pack leaders have an email address based on the first initial of their first name and then their whole last name then @cubs56.org.  (John Doe’s Pack email address would be jdoe@cubs56.org).  In addition to leader email addresses we have established a comprehensive system of email forwards to make emailing groups within the Pack easier (the current email structure can be downloaded in pdf format by using the button to the left of the navigation bar). 

There are three ways to use the @cubs56.org email system.  Each have their own set of advantages and disadvantages and are listed below. 

Option 1 – Forward To Personal Email Address

We can set your @cubs56.org email address to automatically forward to your current personal email address.

           Advantages

·         Easiest way to receive @cubs56.org email

          Disadvantages

·         Can not send as @cubs56.org

If you would like to use this @cubs56.org option to receive your email just send an email to webmaster@cubs56.org telling what personal email address you would like your @cubs56.org email to forward to.

 Option 2 – WebMail

Those of you who currently use aol, gmail, yahoo mail or hotmail are used to using a web based email system.  @cubs56.org can be used as a web based system as well.                  

          Advantages

·         No set-up required

·         Can send as @cubs56.org

·         Able to get @cubs56.org email anywhere there is internet access

          Disadvantages

·         Have to login website to see new mail (no alert system) 

If you would like to use this @cubs56.org option to send and receive your email just click on the button to the left labeled “webmail”.  Once at the login screen enter your @cubs56.org email address and password to enter your email account.  Your password is the first 3 letters of your last name (in lowercase) and a 4 digit number which is the day and year of your birth.  (if John Doe’s birthday was July 3, 1974 his password would be:  doe0374). 

Option 3 – Microsoft Outlook

Those of you who prefer Microsoft Outlook can add your @cubs56.org email address as a new account in Outlook. 

          Advantages

·         Can send as @cubs56.org

·         All email managed in one place

·         Outlook functionality available to manage @cubs56.org email

          Disadvantages

·         Set-up required
